'Sunday Morning' at the Athens Megaron Concert Hall

The popular programme ‘Sunday Morning at the Megaron’ hosts an educational event at the Athens Megaron Concert Hall, on the 21st October 2012.  The event presents the central message of “Twice A Stranger” through music, storytelling, archive film footage, refugee video testimonies, cooking and shadow theatre, on the occasion of the 90th Anniversary of the destruction of Smyrna and the end of Greco-Turkish War (1919-1922).

The event will include examples and references to the inhabitants of Asia Minor, Eastern Thrace, Cappadocia, Crete and the Pontus Region.

Special guests include storyteller Anna Conomos and musician Nikos Angelopoulos (lute) who will tell the story 'The Promise', through spoken word and music.

Here is a teaser of the performance, with Anna, Nikos and Ayca Damgaci singing in Greek and Turkish the traditional song from Asia Minor, 'to Salvari mou':

In collaboration with the Athens Megaron Concert Hall.
